PRIVATE COACHING

With private coaching, we come to your house for one-on-one coaching targeted at solving problem behaviors and “Shaping the Dog of Your Dreams”. After an initial assessment, we create a customized training plan to address your most pressing behavioral concerns and set goals for your dog. We don’t focus on what you don’t want, we focus on what you do want. Private coaching is ideal for addressing problem behaviors such as jumping up, not coming when called, pulling on leash, excessive barking, and other issues. We give you homework between appointments so that you can work on the behaviors taught. When you put in the work, your dog will be able to advance to the next step of our training plan and progress rapidly. We will be “Shaping the Dog of Your Dreams.”

We also offer a private coaching Puppy Quick Start program.

HALO PUPPY QUICK START

The HALO Puppy Start Right program provides the foundation for a lifelong partnership with your dog based on mutual trust and understanding. Multiple behavioral studies indicate the learning ability of an 8-week old puppy is equal to that of an adult dog. The time to start training foundation behaviors is early and often after acquiring your puppy. The HALO Puppy Quick Start 4-week program includes:

  • 8 one-hour sessions meeting twice a week for 4 weeks
  • Several training sessions an hour plus a potty break and puppy playtime
  • Extensive work on housetraining with a personalized housetraining schedule, detailed guidelines, and specific guidance on how to make housetraining easy and quick
  • Proper crate training
  • Teaching foundation behaviors of “Touch a Target”, “Respond and to a Cue”, “Give Attention to the Handler”, “Offer Behavior”, and “Settle in a Crate or on a Mat”
  • Foundation behaviors are those key behaviors upon which all other behaviors are based.

The foundation behaviors for clicker training are different from the usual sit, down, and come. The dog will also learn those behaviors during HALO Puppy Quick Start after learning foundation behaviors.

SEPARATION ANXIETY NO MORE

AT HALO Dog Training we understand that every caregiver of a dog with separation anxiety is desperate to regain their freedom and overcome nuisance and destructive behaviors. We deal with both puppy and late-onset separation anxiety. We use science and evidence-based positive reinforcement clicker training to bring calm to your dog and home. We don’t know why some dogs develop separation anxiety, but we know how to fix it. Solving separation anxiety is not a quick fix; it requires management and commitment. AT HALO Dog Training we understand just how hard it is to live with a reactive dog. Your dog may behave beautifully in the house but once outside, all bets are off.
